The National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure have developed the Change Gear programme, offering specific career change support to ensure those leaving the Forces are empowered to make informed decisions about the opportunities available to them in the sport, fitness, outdoors, playwork and caravans industries. A career in sport and active leisure is well suited to those who have led active and challenging lives. However, the programme aims to look past the uniform to the person within, recognising not only the skills of trained service men and women, but also the personal qualities that will help each individual succeed.

The Change Gear programme includes:

• Explore Sport: Specialised two day workshop designed to help those new to the sector to understand themselves, their skills and the options available so they can make the right career choice. Register your interest here
   
• Train to Change: Technical training to deliver the qualifications and skills support that those Armed Forces leavers deserve when starting their new career. We have a national network of over 80 quality assured training providers to make sure they get the best training, and the best value for money, to succeed.
• Meet the Employer: Direct access to employers through sector-specific events and our online job matching service means job searching is supported rather than stressful.
