Game On - The Future Jobs Fund
About the Future Jobs Fund
The Future Jobs Fund is a government initiative, led by the Department for Work and Pensions to create over 55,000 new jobs across the country. It will support the creation of jobs for long-term unemployed young people, and others who face significant disadvantage in the labour market. It is aimed primarily at 18-24 year olds who have been claiming Jobseekers Allowance for approaching a year.
Working on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the National Skills Academy will give small employers access to training that they were unable to pay for in the past. The Academy will create 2,400 jobs in community sport and health and fitness with over 50% of these jobs created within the next six months. This will:
- Help tackle youth unemployment
- Provide wage subsidies to you as employers
- Bring new business to training providers
We will create these jobs and source the training needed - for technical, basic and employability skills - through our partners we will match each candidate with an employer.
Driving the bid, the National Skills Academy has brought together for the first time a range of major partners from across the sport sector, employers, training providers and the community at large including Sport England, the Youth Sport Trust, the Amateur Swimming Association, SkillsActive, the Princes Trust and Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
