Train to gain
Train to Gain works to further the skills of a wide range of people including:
- Contracted employees (full and part-time)
- Self-employed people
- Volunteers
- Employment agency workers
Our regional teams are experts in the sector's training needs, so your application to Train to Gain can be a lot stronger if you work with us to optimise it. Please contact your regional team to find out more about the following:
First full Level 2 qualification (equivalent to five good GCSEs)
For employees who do not already have a full Level 2 qualification, Train To Gain, provide funding for literacy, numeracy and English language skills, plus their first Level 2 qualification. There is also funding available for a number of additional Level 2 qualifications.
Contributions to Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to two A-levels)
For employees with a Level 2 qualification, Train to Gain will contribute significantly towards the cost of a Level 3 qualification. For employees who do not have a Level 2 qualification but have the skills to progress to Level 3, Train to Gain will provide full funding for the Level 3 qualification. For those who already possess a Level 3 qualification or above, there is funding for a number of additional Level 3 qualifications. For employees aged 19-25, Train to Gain can provide full funding for a Level 3 qualification.
Leadership and management skills
For organisations with 10 to 250 employees, Train to Gain offer an in-depth skills analysis for owners and managers, plus supporting grants of up to £1,000 to develop leadership and management skills.
