National governing body membership

Alongside our parent organisation SkillsActive, we work with national governing bodies to develop relevant and affordable training. These programmes are tailored for the whole club - from coaches and volunteers to officials.

As members of the National Skills Academy, sports clubs gain access to our full range of discounted online courses, as well as a range of additional member benefits. We offer a flexible and bespoke approach based on your needs, but listed below are some of the core areas we can work together on:

National and regional support

We can support the development of training, help attract sustainable funding streams and co-ordinate national bursaries and coaching support. With help from SkillsActive, you can access resources at a regional level, identify regional funding streams and co-ordinate localised initiatives - including bursaries and developing employer links within the region.

The Online Academy

The Online Academy is the sector's one-stop shop for all your training needs. You can access discounted online and blended learning courses for individuals and clubs, and have access to your own dedicated web pages.

Entry into the workforce

Through your membership we will help develop opportunities to maximise funding programmes for apprenticeships and new roles within your sport.

Accessing investment into sport

Through national and regional bids, the National Skills Academy will ensure that your sport is presented with opportunities to access funding for workforce development in a co-ordinated manner.

Management and leadership development

The National Skills Academy will work with you to develop a co-ordinated approach to management development across the club network, using our approved network of providers.
