National Direction - Locally Focused NSA Regions

The National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure will operate on both a national and regional level throughout England with both a national hub based in London and regional hubs (providing nationwide coverage) based in the 9 regions highlighted on the map.

Launching in 2008 the Academy is being phased in over three years, commencing with the launch of the national hub,  London, Yorkshire and Humber and the North West regions.

The Phased Approach

The National Skills Academy Regional hubs will be phased in as follows:

Phase 1 - Autumn 2008

  • London
  • Yorkshire and Humber
  • North West

Phase 2 - Autumn 9

  • South East
  • East
  • South West

 Phase 3 - Autumn 2010

  • East Midlands
  • North East
  • West Midlands

What will the NSA Regional Hubs do?

  • provide a coordinating and monitoring role for providers of the NSA's services.
  • act as a brokerage service for providers linked to the NSA.
  • liaise with and act on behalf of employers within the sector.
  • engage with key stakeholders in the region.
  • operate as the communication centre for the region.
  • coordinate the strategic growth of the NSA network within the region.
  • support providers to meet the criteria of the NSA.
