General information
What is a bursary:
A bursary is the name given to a financial grant to help students pay for training.
The coaching bursary is a grant specifically aimed at providing active coaches with financial assistance to help them develop their experience, skills and gain qualifications and professional recognition within their chosen sport.
Our coaching bursary offers successful applicants funding to cover up to 66% of the full cost of attending an accredited coaching course.
Eligibility:
You will need to enrol on a course before the 31 March 2010 - and have started. Please note, that the definition of a course start will be subject to the sport, and could include induction papers, learning questionnaires or a face to face meeting with your National Governing Body or County Sports Partnership. In addition this programme is available only to those wishing to become or who are already an active coach. Please see terms and conditions
How to complete your bursary application:
You will be asked to complete an online application form, which is a simple step by step process. You will be asked for information on your coaching qualifications and where you practice your coaching, therefore please have with you as much information as possible. The following sections are those that you are required to complete:
Section 1: Personal Details: Please complete the information in full. All fields are mandatory.
Section 2: Course Details: Please complete your current qualifications and the qualification you wish to complete. Please note, you will be required to validate the course with your National Governing Body or County Sports Partnership.
Section 3: Coaching Activity: To ensure you receive the most from our coaching support, we need to know a little about you and your coaching activity. Please complete all information. This data will help us to continue to negotiate with funders to support more initiatives and particularly bursaries.
Section 4: Validation: In this section you will need to provide details of the individual / club who is confirming that you are attending the course
How will I receive the funds:
You will be issued with the funds via BACS payment or Cheque - The bursary will be issued on ENROLMENT of the course, and you will be required to complete an evaluation / validation form.
